The new High Performance Center will be located in the parish of Olival, next to the PortoGaia Sports Training Center, which has been operating there for over two decades.
The future FC Porto Academy promises to be a reference space with modern equipment that will include training areas, complementary spaces and all the necessary conditions for the development and sporting and personal growth of the Club's first-team athletes. Through a state-of-the-art urban, architectural and landscaping solution by architect Silva Garcia, this complex will meet the highest standards of energy and environmental sustainability.
Taking advantage of the orography of the site, the Academy will comprise two nuclei: one for the first team, which will include a training residence for players, and another that will include a mini-stadium and other areas and equipment for top-level training. The complex will also have a public interest dimension, making it possible to support social, cultural, recreational and educational activities open to the population, to be developed in partnership with the local authority.
The project, which received a broadly favorable opinion from the municipality, will be developed in close coordination between the two entities, with the municipality believing that the FC Porto High Performance Center is an important driving force for boosting the local economy and enhancing the territory.
