The average monthly payment fell to €393, down €1 from the previous month and €11 less than in the same period last year.

In August, building a new home in Portugal cost 3.8% more than in the same month last year, according to data from INE.

The sale price of houses in mainland Portugal rose by 20.6% in July this year compared to the same month in 2024, according to Confidencial Imobiliário's Residential Price Index. In monthly terms, prices rose by 2.6% in July.

According to AICCOPN's Statistical Summary of Housing, licenses for the construction and renovation of residential buildings also increased by 13.6%.

The increase was €34 compared to June. Alentejo recorded the highest increase compared to the previous month, at 4.2%.

In June, house prices in mainland Portugal recorded a year-on-year change of 17.7%, according to Confidencial Imobiliário's Residential Price Index.
