A housing development with 90 homes (T1, T2 and T3) for affordable rent is about to be built in Laborim, in the parish of Mafamude. The new construction is part of the Local Housing Strategy - 1st Right Program and represents an investment of 17 million euros.

Three tenders are open for the allocation of 30 permanent housing units under the Affordable Rent Program. Applications must be submitted between June 1 and June 30, 2025, and are open to all citizens who live or work in the municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia.

On May 29, the collaboration protocol between Futebol Clube do Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia City Council for the implementation of the Futebol Clube do Porto Academy in Gaia was signed in the main hall of the Paços do Concelho. The infrastructure will be financed entirely by the club.

The “Castelo de Gaia Integrated Intervention”, promoted by the municipality, has been completed. This is a wide-ranging set of urban requalification and enhancement interventions that are candidates for the National Prize for Urban Rehabilitation.
